The wires I use to wire wrap crystals are ether tarnish resistant copper wire, or tarnish resistant silver plated copper wire, They are durable, however I would advise that you do not wear them in the shower, when swimming or to bed to help keep them in tip-top condition.

The crystals I use in my work are all ethically sourced, natural gemstones and crystals (unless specifically stated otherwise i.e opalite or goldstone etc)
